The FM radio frequency band within Australia is VHF 87.5-108.5MHz, all analogue FM radio stations around Australia will be within these frequency band. The FM frequency wave is quite large in comparison to a UHF or Microwave frequency waves, this allows the wave to travel long distances and over/around obstacles.
With the advancement in FM radio technology, more information including radio station name, song title and artist and automatic changing to traffic reports can be broadcast.
All ZCG FM Radio broadcast antennas are tuned to better than 1.2:1 VSWR which is the minimal requirement for broadcasting antennas, ensuring the efficiency of your transmission system.
ZCG’s range of broadcast antennas are tried and trusted by radio networks and community radio stations nation-wide as well as internationally.
ZCG range of Broadcast FM Radio antennas are listed and described below:
- Circular Polarised Dipole: A circular polarised dipole send the signal in either a right-hand or left-hand circular pattern allowing for better penetration over hilly or urban terrain.
- Collinear: A collinear consists of multiple internal dipole elements to increase overall gain in a 360 degree “Omni-directional” pattern. A collinear is suited for long distance communications in a central position. Ideal for mounting at the top of a structure or top of a tower or pole.
- Mixed Polarised Dipole: The mixed polarised dipole allows for a section of the RF Signal to be transmitted on all planes in a required direction, this allows for penetration around or over objects such as hills, valleys or buildings.
- Panel: The panel based antenna is best suited for wideband capabilities, where a low profile is required or where space availability is at a minimum, panels consist of radiating elements with a solid back screen to ensure the signal is sent in the intended direction.
- Sidemount Dipole: A sidemount or folded dipole is the very basis of antenna design, consisting of a single folded dipole with a 1λ (wavelength) handle to suspend the radiating dipole away from your structure. Ideal for mounting on a structure, telescopic mast or pole.
- Yagi: Yagi’s consist of a set of director elements and a single or dual folded dipole and a single reflector all in a line. The configuration of a Yagi allows for a directional signal to be sent in the intended transmission plane either Horizontal or Vertical depending on mounting.
