The CM162-AIS-B-SS marine AIS collinear antenna works within the Automatic Identification System frequency band covering both AIS1 and AIS2 . A.I.S. is a marine safety system that displays vessel size, weight and heading to surrounding vessels and on-shore stations. The CM162-AIS-B-SS marine AIS antenna is designed for mounting to the top of a buoy or alternatively mounting using the M20 threaded mount ferrule onto a vessels mast or structure with an appropriate mount hole. Ensure the collinear is mounted at the highest location on your buoy, vessel or structure to ensure true omnidirectional signal propogation. Obstructions such as vertical metal uprights, handrails or antenna masts will cause a 'null' in the signal path, reducing signal propogation.
